<b>Willow Tree</b> Collectible Ornaments - Family <b>Figurines</b> and Tableaus

Willow Tree Collectibles are named such after the beckoning gestures of the willow tree, calling for our attention to them, yet expressionless at the same time. There are moments in life - many such moments - which call our attention in the same way, and yet what it is those moments are trying to say to us is partially hidden, changing, and different for each person.

Those special, inexplicable moments in our lives are the moments that Willow Tree Collectibles capture. In figurines, ornaments and tableaus as graceful, beckoning and inexpressably expressive as a willow tree itself.

If you're looking for something new in Christmas Collectibles, something that reflects the new simplism and yet still offers great beauty, Willow Tree Collectibles may be just the thing.

Generally speaking I dislike resin as an art media, but this is one of those few applications where it really works. All of the Willow Tree people -and Angels- are expressionless, colors and forms are consistent throughout.

This is not intended to be cult-like, but rather to leave the viewer free to interpret each figure -or each moment - as they see it. The artist behind this series - Susan Lordi - isn't trying to present us with anything new here.

The Willow Tree Collectibles capture universal moments, expressively and beautifully, but the canvas is always purposely left partially blank. It is an interaction between art and viewer that finishes the creation. The art gestures, beckons like a lively willow tree, and the viewer responds to the moment.

Originally the Susan Lordi figurines were not made into Christmas ornaments. Ornament plaques were made instead, and of course an army of angels, so never fear that there is not enough variety in the Willow Tree collection to decorate a tree.

Still, the non-angel, figurine Willow Tree Christmas ornaments are new, and few enough in number that you can still easily aquire aquire the pieces. 4" tall.

Metal-edged resin plaques of ivory with Willow Tree tableaus make wonderful and unique Christmas tree ornaments. Willow Tree Collectibles Christmas ornaments work particularly well with white on white color schemes, or as accent pieces in a blue and white scheme. These primitive, evoking memorials -like all the Willow Tree pieces- would also be set off nicely by silver and crystal with touches of blue, green or taupe.

Metal edging of the Christmas ornament plaques is something relatively new to the ten year old Willow Tree. Prior to that the plaques came with no such embellishment. 

The Willow Tree angels are typically children in disguise. One hugs a kitty cat, another clasps her hands anxiously to her chest in eager wishing, while another bows her head in fervent prayer.

All have metal wings and are 3 to 4.5” tall.
